A preacher once said that he had talked to Jesus and was expecting this
"GREAT REVELATION" from the Lord. Jesus said to him "Go tell my people
that I'm coming!". The preacher followed up with, "Lord? They know that."
Jesus' reply was, "No they DON'T!! Go tell my people that I'm COMING!!!!".
Are you looking forward to the Lord's soon return? Or are you so busy
with your family, job, and vacation plans that you haven't really thought
about it at all? Perhaps now is a good time to think of it because if you
put it off until tomorrow, there may not BE a tomorrow for you.
As a born again Christian, I know we say that we are looking forward to that day but there are times when it would be more convenient if He would just wait a day or two. Is this you? I know I've felt that way a few times. Is there an urgency to get on with the Lord's work inside of you? If not, it's time to get alone with God, seeking His Face. It's time to dig out that old, dusty bible and see what it says about these last days. What happens if the Lord Jesus comes and we are not ready? Will you still be here when those who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are taken out of the world? Will you be left behind to wonder just what went wrong? After all, you say, I go to church every Sunday. I'm a good person. I just don't see what all the panic is about.
The reason it's so urgent now is because Jesus IS soon to return and when He does, those who are totally committed to the Lord will rise up to be with Him. Those who are not doing what the Master has asked of us will be wondering why they are still here. Ever wonder what the most used sentence in hell might be? How about " I NEVER thought I would be here!!!!"
Revelation 22:12, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."
