Normally, I do not get into the political area very much. However, at this point, I need to say a few things. There are two candidates out there. At least one of them spends his entire time, that we see anyway, bashing the other. He makes little effort to tell people what he has in mind to do about things like Social Security and Medicare. This is the hot topic right now, of course. But both campaigns are more interested in hurting the other than focusing on the real issues. When do the dirty politics end and the focus become the people of the United States where it belongs? WE THE PEOPLE are the only thing that should matter right now. The vote belongs to us. The candidates need to remember that fact instead of each trying to beat the brains out of the other.
Both parties have been playing a very dirty game of smash and run. What ever happened to the time when we actually heard what the candidate plans to do? What happened to talking about the issues at hand? I would love to know what is going to be done about Social Security and Medicare. I am vitally concerned in what is going to be accomplished in Iraq and Afganistan, among the many other foreign interests. What is going to happen about our home security? How about our schools? What about drugs? Health care in America is both fantastic and reprehensible, depending on who is involved and what form of insurance or lack of it is used. What is going to happen concerning that? These are things that I am vitally interested with. Are you?
WE THE PEOPLE have a responsibility right now to decide who is leading us. WE THE PEOPLE should take the time to get to know the leaders we are voting in to office. WE THE PEOPLE are the only ones that the candidates should be focusing on right now, not some petty attacks on each other. At this point in time, I am no longer interested or concerned about some service to our country that either did or did not happen thirty years ago. I am no longer interested in whether someone kept or threw away their medals or protested thirty years ago. I am not concerned with something that happened decades ago. I am vitally interested in what is going on right now. I am focused on what each person has done in the last several years, what their record is on certain issues, whether they are decisive or wishy-washy about the current situations. Who can best lead us in crisis, war and in peace times?
WE THE PEOPLE have an obligation to look at the FACTS and the TRUTH and then make a decision. The problem with that is....what IS the truth, what are the facts? You could check out the media for the truth. Ah, but we have now learned that the media lies to us. I saw a recent poll that asked if we would believe the media, that is the newspapers, TV news anchors and so on. To my shock, people still believe most of what the media has to say.
Yet, we are constantly bombarded with prejudicial reporting. You have only to see what was done via CBS just lately. Don't be down on them though. They are only doing what their bosses tell them, just like the other major networks. The anchors all put their own spin on the facts and the truth. None of them seem to be honorable anymore. None are actually known for truth telling these days. If you do not believe that, simply watch and listen as if you had never heard them before. Look at them with "new eyes" and check out what they tell you. If you are reading this, you have internet capability. Check them out! You do not have to continue to be ignorant of the truth if only you will check them out without simply taking their word for things. You have no idea how much bias is truly in the news today.
No, WE THE PEOPLE have to find another way to determine the truth. Perhaps you have found this already. It is called your conscience. Watch out! Even your conscience can lie to you if it does not know the truth. We, who believe ourselves to be good people, must seek the truth by whatever means we have. Yet, if we are not careful, we will be mislead as many are being mislead right now in this filthy, dirty campaign.
I must tell you that I am a preacher, a born again child of the living God, saved by Jesus Christ. If that now turns you off, please bear with me for another moment of your time. Yes, I am dedicated to preaching the Gospel AND I am an American citizen vitally interested in my President and his decisions. It is because of both those things that I can vote with my conscience and be certain that I am doing what is the right thing whether it appears that way or not. The one thing I am not doing is trying to get you to decide one candidate over another. That is between you and your conscience.
Here comes the pitch!! I ask you now to seek the Lord in what you choose. If you have not already asked the Lord Jesus into your heart, now is the best time to do so. Why? Because whether you choose to believe or not, there is a loving, just, merciful God giving you your every breath. There is a Savior Who has gone to the Cross for you so that you do not have to bear those ugly, treacherous sins alone anymore. And this God is also the One Who has everything under control whether it appears to be that way or not. Make no mistake, God IS in charge. He is asking you to come to Him by way of His Son, Jesus, Who is your personal Savior. Today, you can make the most important decision of your entire life. Today, you can choose heaven or hell. Then, as you let your conscience lead you, you can make an informed decision about your choice for President.
Just remember, WE THE PEOPLE, not the candidates decide their future, at least as of this article, at least as far as I know. The one thing I am totally sure of is that God is in charge. I am certain that we do not have much time left. (If you do not understand that statement, please go to my website and read other articles on the subject.) Are you willing to let your life be lead by someone you do not know at all simply because you chose either to not vote or vote in an uninformed manner?
WE THE PEOPLE are about to give up the right to be WE THE PEOPLE. Someday soon, someone will take hold of this country and bring it down. When that happens, WE THE PEOPLE will no longer have the choices we now take so much for granted. These rights are precious to us but we are so blinded by the media and others that we do not see it that way. So many people do not vote because they think it won't matter. WAKE UP AMERICA!! WE THE PEOPLE are the only ones who do matter in this election. It is time to vote, not for the dirty politics, not for the yes-men, not for those who you believe will lead us astray. Don't let our country go down in flames by those who would take away all of our rights and privledges given us by the founding fathers who, in their Christian beliefs, brought about this new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Those men believed that we were endowed with certain enalienable rights...life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This government is OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE and FOR THE PEOPLE. Don't let that change!!!! Vote this year.
