Think about that dream you had when you were a teenager. Did you ever realize it? If you did, congratulations. Was it worth it? If you did not see your dream come true, why not? Have you begun to have new, bigger, brighter dreams? Are you working towards those? If not, why not? How do those folks, who have larger than life dreams, do it? Why can't MY DREAMS come true? If you have asked yourself any of those questions, perhaps the answers lie, not in the world, but within yourself. Nope, it isn't New Age.
The key to successs is, indeed, within yourself. In fact, there are three keys worth looking at. When our marvelous Creator fashioned us He included within us the information to realize HIS dreams for us. If you become tuned in to His ideal future that has been personalized just for you things will change, sometimes overnight. Other times it takes a while. But the dream is inside you right now. Just ask to see the vision that God has for you. So then, key number one: Catch the vision!
How do you KNOW that the dream is inside me now? Glad you asked that. God decided before He made the first molecule, what you would look like, talk like, what your personality would be, all the wonderful things that make up a 'one-of-kind you'.
He also included:
2 Timothy 1:7-9, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began"
Did you notice that, not only did He know you before the world began but He also did not give you the spirit of fear! That is so wonderful to know. That means that the fear to step out and do that thing you have always KNOWN that you should accomplish, does NOT come from the Father. It comes because we are fearful of doing something that is not our normal activity. Know what? Those who step outside the 'normal' are the ones who become successful. Why? Because they don't care about the comfort zone (see my article called the
Comfort Zone as much as they do getting to their goals. In the secular realm, that usually means some type of 'dog- eat-dog' mentality. In Christian terms, things that should be done by the child of God, it means to set your goals, work towards those goals and let none of the failures stop you.
That brings up another key: Make a plan. Instead of taking each day, looking only to the end of that same day, being thankful that you made it one more time; make plans for some short term goals. For instance, in my case it didn't really occur to me to realize my dream of writing until I decided that I would do some! How simple is that? But you have to be organized too. It takes a plan. Map out the short term, longer term and really long term goals. Write down your dreams. SEE them in your heart. But one warning....if they are not in line with God's dreams for you, they may not work. If they do, it will be short term. Please hear me. If you want your long term goals to be realized, be certain they line up with God's Word. When they do, go for it!! You will be amazed at the things that will happen. Are there going to be disappointments and unrealized dreams? Certainly. But if you begin right now to line up your visions and dreams with God, then in the long run, those dreams will come true.
Is that all there is to it? No, there is one more key. It has never been God's plan (yes, His plan is in you, remember.) for you to be in a pitiful place. You are a child of the King with all that implies. So why are you not getting anywhere? The answer lies in the third key. THINK BIG!! Is this a surprise? It should not be. Our Father has done nothing BUT think big.
Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
How big do you have to think to do that? But that was not all. He didn't stop there. He spoke light into existence. That light goes out at 186,000 miles per second and it has been going since the time that the Lord spoke it out! He populated the world with animals, birds, reptiles, fish, etc.
That's what I call thinking BIG. And He made man in His image. Say, did you catch that? Man is in HIS image. So if God can do BIG things, why can't you? Does it take a lot of money? Time? Or whatever else you can think of? Possibly. But this I have learned from the Lord. Once He calls you to realize your dream, He equips you to do this thing whether you think you can or not.
Let's recap. Three keys to success:
1) Catch the vision
2) Make a plan
3) Think BIG!
Perhaps I should add one more. Talk your dream! Don't keep it a secret. Share it like it's already coming true because when it becomes real to you, then it's real to everyone. Remember one thing, if you are walking in the vision of the Lord, it's also real to Him!
When you do these things, success is going to happen. Just don't give up on your dreams and God's vision. It is well worth your time. Say, are you too old to do this? Absolutely not! When Col. Sanders started Kentucky Fried Chicken, he was in his sixties. There are a lot more of those kinds of stories. Get with it! Realize your dream.

Father, I have sinned against You. I wanted to walk my own path but Lord, it doesn't work. Your way is so much better. Please forgive me of my sins, Jesus, and please come into my heart and live with me forever. Wash me whiter than snow. Father, let the Holy Ghost work in me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me and giving me life!!! I am a new creation in Christ Jesus!!! Amen.
Now, go get that dusty bible out and start to read. What? No bible? Go get one. Study it. Meditate (think, ponder) on what the Lord says to you. Go find a church home where the Word of God is preached. Best of all, enjoy the fact that you are now a child of the King!!
